Deuteronomy 31:8

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

NRSV

Related to a recent Google search I found out that the prefrontal cortex (PFC) is located in the very front of the brain, just behind the forehead. In charge of abstract thinking and thought analysis, it is also responsible for regulating behavior. This includes mediating conflicting thoughts, making choices between right and wrong, and predicting the probable outcomes of actions or events.

It is somewhere in this area that we begin to process the monumental decisions we make in our lives. When was the last time you were faced with such a decision?

Often when these moments occur we feel inadequate at best for the task at hand because these kinds of decisions lead us in many cases to unknown territory.

The Good News however is that it does not have to feel this way in the sense of how much we can or are willing to claim the promise set out before us in the Word of God. The Lord alone says we are not unaided. In this reality therefore there is no new path un-traversed rather it is just an opportunity to walk with God who is always seemingly waiting for us!
